For an MS Paint job, this is actually pretty good! I like the choice of colors.

If you needed to improvement, I'd keep an eye out for shadows in relation to the light source. You kinda had a little bit of that going on with the highlighted contours of StrawberryClock facing the sun, but the illusion is dropped because of the lack of shadows on the sand. Even if you just did an eye-drop tool on the sand, opened up the color pallette, and made that color SLIGHTLY darker, it would've worked.

Nicely done, voted 5

I'll take your tips into effect. Thanks!

*swoon*...He's my hero.

Well done! And nice creative decision to reference the pilot episode!

Enviable hair/fur strand detailing and shading. Wonderful job, and it's evident you worked hard on it. Fav'd and Fived!

Thank you very much man, took me a long time so i'm glad it shows, appreciate it :)

Textures. Textures everywhere.

I like this! This is really cool...I even like the intentional framing, like how the monster/kid is so distant. Stashed away and isolated. You could read a lot into this. Easy Five and Fav.

How have I not heard of you before? First thing coming out of my mouth was just "WOAAHH"

This thing is REALLY freakin' cool! Great job!

Awesome walkthrough, with a kickass end-product!

(I've always loved Doomsday, too)
I'm really going to be studying this closely, because I'm trying to shake the habit, or at least branch out from my style of black-ink articulating every detail and shape of a character. What I do is really comic-booky, and I'd like to do something like this. More "Fine Art" illustrations.

The double light-source does wonders for the characters dimensions, and there's no flaws I can find. He looks ready for League of Legends. TEN OUTTA TEN, and fived!

Everything about this is masterful. The sky, the water looks real...the horizon, and the illusion of depth by shading whats closer to be darker, and the further land to be softened. I love the ships, its just...wow.

What is Vue and how did it particularly lend a hand in this things creation?

1600 responds:

Thanks! Vue is software for creating 3D environments that I used to create the sky and water and some of the land. I actually don't know how to use it all that well yet, but it's really convenient for making a base image to paint on.

"So much wrong with this?"

Are you nuts? This is great!

stnkjuc responds:

Teeth, lower lip, and her left (our right) eye lacks depth. But thank you, it means a lot! :)
