You even nailed the lighting on him standing in the icy shadow of a mountain, with harsh snowblind sunlight in the backdrop. Fucking outstanding, 'ol Megs looks mighty and majestic.

HeartisttheArtist responds:

Thank you so much! The colors are almost the opposite of Megatron's, so I wanted that contrast to really pop. I'm glad it worked, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you like it!

It's like the manifestation of a dream or memory. Extremely impressive details all over the place on this, I'm in love with this piece. Excellent work.

You're brilliant, and your talent is masterful! I can't wait to see what you do next. Your style is really impressive and distinct. If you ever sell art, like t-shirts, commissions, or prints, you gotta let us know! You deserve to be recognized for your abilities and imagination.

War In The Pocket is so short! Hurry up and see how it ends!

The Kampfer was so great. I built a 1/100 Master Grade of it, and its one of my favorite designs. 0080 War in the Pocket was filled with great MS designs, from the Hygogg, the GM Command, Mass Produced Guncannon, GM Sniper II, Gelgoog Jaeger, and even the Gundam Alex was an amazing improvement over the Grandpa Gundam.

I'd love to see you tackle more mobile suits from the universal century! There are so many to choose from- I recommend going similar to the Kampfer, the graceful and underrepresented Gerbera Tetra.

RedusTheRiotAct responds:

Thanks! You’ll definitely see more from me. I’ll get around to finishing WitP. It just takes a while since I don’t watch shows in one sitting. Plus I’m still working on the OG Gundam. Over half way through

Shit, that's cool!

I will cherish this always. I've never once owned a jacket like this, but I'm happy that you could detect that I've always wanted a jacket like that. And now I know I must get one so that life may imitate art.

ZetoSoul responds:

I remember you liked flying, so I gave you a flight jacket. When you get one, please rock it!

Really skillful work all around, I'm in love with all of your decisions here. Gotta follow you for more!

Any detail ideas that you wanted to implement here, but scrapped for time or efficiency? Where did the setting of this piece come from, was it inspired by a song or dream? A photograph, or scene from a memory?

GRIS9 responds:

Thanks! I generally paint landscapes when I want to relax, so I let my instincts guide me so I can create a piece where I can feel calm and happy. Many times I get stressed with commissions and other types of work, so sometimes I use landscapes as an artistic escape, where I paint where I would like to be at that very moment ^^.

Sometimes I'll just open up this page and have music in the background while I work.

At the moment, it's like he's singing "Wild Child" by W.A.S.P. and it's 18x more motivating than just listening to the song by itself. I'm busting out some good art thanks to 'ol Punchy here, being adorable and lip-syncing to 80's rock for me.

You have such a realized style, I recognized it was you right from the thumbnail.

The colors are super appealing, I love the exaggerated proportions, it all looks really good!

How did you find your signature style? Did you have a process where you honed it down like "these guys are gonna have *these* traits" (like I get a 60s-70s Animation / Jim Henson vibe somehow, or something from that era.) Or is it simply reflexive; you've always drawn them this way?

Do you use Clipstudio Pro?

I love your work, man. Never stop. First discovered you through the Smash Bros collab and fell in love with your artstyle soonafter.

TheEvaluh responds:

Aw thank you so much, that means a lot. I think my "style" has just been defined by what I grew up with and how I see things in my head, it just kind of comes out that way. I use SAI mostly

YESSS, this is so cool! So many awesome details, the whole of this is awe-inspiring. I fixate on the face.
